The Index is Qudwa’s signature franchise: a running, editorial ranking of the creators shaping the region — the ones we follow. It is also, deliberately, a point of view. We would rather state a clear, arguable position openly than hide behind a black-box “algorithm.”
What The Index is not
It is not a follower leaderboard. Raw follower counts are the least interesting thing about a creator and the easiest to game. A ranking built on them would just restate what every dashboard already shows.
What it weighs
The Index reads three things together: reach within the region, growth velocity over a recent window, and regional relevance — how much a creator actually shapes the scene they belong to. Durable, regionally-anchored influence is rewarded over a one-off viral spike.
How to read it honestly
These are real creators shaping the region, profiled the way an editor would profile them: on the strength of their work, their reach, and the mark they have left on their scene. We write about what they have built, not a scoreboard of their stats. Where a number genuinely matters to the story, we state it plainly; where it does not, we leave it out and let the work speak.
When a creator moves up or down, we show the movement. When we get a call wrong, we will say so. The Index is meant to start arguments, and the only way that works is if you can see exactly what it is — and is not — measuring.
